Join or follow the celebration as the Sun Day Wool tapestry travels from Paul Smith’s College to the Base of the Egg (Albany, NY) for display at the big Sun Day Festival. Highlights from each stop will be shared via social media throughout the day.

Itinerary: Saturday, September 20th

START at Paul Smith’s College – 10am: Students and supporters gather at PSC around 10am. Meeting point tba. Relay runners pass wool suns on sequence of human-powered and zero-carbon vehicles. From Paul Smith’s, the EV relay proceeds to stops in the Adirondacks, all the way down to Albany.

EV + tapestry drive to the next stop … 12 miles/16 min

STOP 2: Saranac Lake Free Library / Hotel Saranac – 11 am: Stop in front of Saranac Lake Free Library. Fun activities with wool suns and a book nook on clean energy. Pit stop at Hotel Saranac EV charger and up onto the terrace to view the solar panels on top of the Library.  Meeting point: Cantwell Room in SLFL.

EV + tapestry drive to the next stop … 26 miles/40 min

STOP 3: Keene / Marcy Field – noon: At noon-ish, EV drivers and friends assemble at Marcy Field, waving signs and solar flags and more. Meeting point: TBA.

EV + tapestry drive to the next stop … 25 miles/30 min

STOP 4: North Hudson Fast Charger – 1:30pm: a pit stop to fast-charge the EV. Mini-photo shoot of drivers and textile suns at the EVolve NY DC Fast charger.

EV + tapestry drive to the next stop … 41 miles/40 minutes

STOP 5: Saratoga Springs – 3:30pm: pit stop where Third Actors and friends gather at Spa Park to drink sun tea or perhaps roast veggies on a solar cooker – if it’s sunny! Meeting point: TBA.

EV + tapestry drive final leg … 62 miles/60 minutes …
