SunDay is a global day of action on September 21st, 2025, celebrating the unstoppable rise of clean energy. We’ll come together to showcase the power of the sun and wind, the energy sources that can power our world without pollution. A great day to Parade for clean energy and then a bike outing along the RT 5 Bike Corridor and Thetford's back roads.
Join the Vermont and New Hampshire Sierra Club, and Upper Valley E-Bike Initiative(UVEBI is an affiliate of the Bike/Walk/Alliance of NH (BWANH)) on a casual bike ride from Norwich, VT, along the Connecticut River Corridor and beyond. We will first meet at 10:30 a.m. at the Ledyard Bridge to meet with Sustainable Hanover and the town Energy Committees of Lyme, Thetford and Norwich, as they march to the Norwich Green. At the Norwich Green, there will be a range of energy activities and demos of solar and electric technologies with many local partners. TheBox food truck will be at the green. 10:30 am is the start of the parade, and 11 am -1 pm is for activities on the green.
We plan to regroup at 12noon and depart for our ride at 12:15.

This route has pretty views of the Connecticut River and other tributaries. It does include one steep hill. The Sierra Club has been working with community leaders to designate the length of US Route 5 in Vermont as a dedicated bike corridor, so come join us on this scenic stretch of road we hope to develop a dedicated bike corridor.
THE EXACT ROUTE WILL BE POSTED IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS.
We welcome those with E-bikes to join us. Note we have a few E-bikes available for loan.
**Registration is requested because we have had to cancel previously due to rain and an injury; we had to cancel this ride at the last minute.**
