Support Tenant Protections at New Rochelle Good Cause Hearing

Start: Wednesday, October 15, 202507:00 PM

On Wednesday, October 15 City Council will hear public testimony on whether to adopt Good Cause Eviction protections.

Good Cause Eviction is a state law that municipalities must adopt to protect tenants from unfair rent hikes and evictions. Under the law, tenants can challenge rent hikes above a certain threshold (inflation plus 5% or 10%, whichever is lower) and landlords must have a valid reason to evict them or deny them a lease renewal.

We need to pack the room to send a strong message to City Council that approving tenant protections is the right thing to do.
