Dr. David Shiffman is a Washington, DC based ocean conservation scientist who studies threatened marine animals and the policies needed to save them. As a writer, his words have appeared in National Geographic, Scientific American, the Washington Post, internationally syndicated op-eds, and a monthly column in SCUBA diving magazine, and he is the author of "Why Sharks Matter" from Johns Hopkins University Press. He is also one of the most-followed scientists on social media and invites you to follow him on all platforms @ WhySharksMatter.
