Join Stomp Out Slumlords and The Woodner Tenants' Union for a meet and greet with Aparna Raj, candidate for Ward 1 Council, and Janeese Lewis George, Ward 4 Councilmember and Mayoral Candidate. Aparna Raj is a Stomp Out Slumlords organizer who fought with tenants against a major slumlord in Ward 8, resulting in a $41 million settlement for the tenants. Janeese Lewis George is a longtime fighter for tenant rights, who has used her position on Council to stand with tenants organizing for better conditions and to fight back against the RENTAL Act. We will hear from the candidates about their plans to create safe, dignified housing in DC, protect and expand tenant rights, and support tenant organizing efforts. Come out to meet these candidates and get your questions answered!

After the meet and greet, we will launch a canvass from the Woodner to talk to DC tenants and voters about the need for strong tenant advocates on Council and Mayor's office. Join us to help build tenant power!
