Elon Musk is destroying democracy around the world, and he's using the fortune he built at Tesla to do it.
Tesla shareholders just approved a trillion dollar package for Elon. But whether he gets it is up to all of us.
We're coming together Nov. 15—exactly nine months since our first weekend of action—to say NO TRILLIONAIRES.
Find an event or host one in your community. Let's show the billionaires that we won't sit idly by while they steal our future.
There is parking available in nearby lots. Please do NOT park in the Josselyn Center's lot or the Lifetime Fitness lot. Bring your own creative signs to carry. Meet on the sidewalk that spans the front of the property at 1200 Skokie Blvd. Stay off of Tesla property. Do not block the roadway or the sidewalk; standing in the grass is fine. If you need to cross the street, please use the crosswalk at the traffic signal.
NOTE: Please do not display Nazi symbols such as swastikas or SS runes on your signs. It is entirely unnecessary. We'll call Elon Musk a Nazi with words.
Our goal is for this protest to be as low-risk as possible, and to prioritize the safety and well-being of all who attend. We ask attendees of this event not to engage in vandalism or destruction of property, and we encourage participants to de-escalate or not engage if hostile bystanders approach us.
In solidarity with our immigrant friends, neighbors, and families, please be aware of the impact of signs or chants advocating the deportation of anyone, including Elon Musk. We must remain conscious of the violence and trauma imposed by deportation in all circumstances, but especially now. We take a firm stance against deporting anyone--even assholes like Elon. In solidarity with everyone targeted by ICE, please do not bring signs advocating deporting Elon.
Tesla Takedown is a peaceful protest movement. We oppose violence, vandalism and destruction of property. This protest is a lawful exercise of our First Amendment right to peaceful assembly.
