On June 9th, at 7pm EDT, we will be hosting Izzy award winning journalist, Aaron Maté, for a discussion about the OPCW chemical weapons scandal and coverup in Syria. Aaron is a journalist with The Grayzone News and he is the host of the show Pushback with Aaron Maté.

In April of 2018, the US bombed Syria, after accusing Syrian President, Bashar al-Assad, of "gassing his own people." The claim and subsequent US bombing were justified by a report from a UN body, the OPCW (Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons).

However, since then, OPCW investigators have come out and said that their initial report was altered under pressure the US and high placed officials at the OPCW. The alleged chemical attack was used to justify illegal US and European bombings in Syria. This story about chemical weapons, and weapons of mass destruction, has tremendous implications for international law, as the US continues to do what it wants, regardless of evidence or just cause.
