Speaker bio:
Dr. Ornela De Gasperin holds an Honours degree in Biology from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (U.N.A.M) and a PhD in Zoology from the University of Cambridge. With postdoctoral research in Ecology at both the University of Lausanne and the University of Fribourg, Switzerland, Dr. Ornela currently serves as a Professor in Ecology at the Institute of Ecology (INECOL, A.C), where she has been since 2023. She is a member of Scientist Rebellion Global and Rebelión Científica Abya Yala.
