Salar Mohandesi is Associate Professor of History at Bowdoin College. He is a historian of modern Europe from a global perspective. His research focuses on the transnational history of ideas, revolutions, political cultures, and social movements in the 20th and 21st centuries. His first book, Red Internationalism, traces the history of antiwar activism in France, the United States, and Vietnam from the early 1960s to the late 1970s in order to explain how and why human rights displaced anti-imperialism as the dominant idiom of internationalism. His second book project is a study of global communism as a historical narrative, life world, and political sequence.
