Springfield Tenants Unite (STUN) is joining PROMO, Missouri Jobs with Justice (JwJ), and other allies to kick off the new year with collective creativity and political education. On January 17, we’ll gather to build powerful signs and visuals that will travel with us to Jefferson City on Jan. 21 and Feb. 17 as we advocate for dignity, justice, and safe communities across the state.

This is an art build and learning space — open to tenants, workers, students, artists, and allies — where stories become messages and creativity fuels action. Come make art, share space, and help shape what we carry forward into 2026. We'll be grateful for your presence and happy to plug you into this work.

In solidarity!

1:00 - 1:30 P.M.: Grounding

Leaders from other organizations will ground us in this political moment and have the opportunity to get clear about what is at stake and what needs to happen. Updates about the formation of teams and organizations will take place followed by a speech, some poetry, and talking about the different types of activities we can do together today!

1:30 - 2:30 P.M.: Activities

For the next hour, activity stations willl be available for everyone. Those include:

  • Yoga

  • Banner/sign paiting

  • Chant/song making

  • Letter writing

Other tables will be available for different organizations to share their platforms, policies, and ways you can get plugged in!

2:30 - 3:00 P.M.: Debrief & Next steps

We’ll showcase all of our beautiful community art, and we’ll come together with some songs of solidarity, chants, and prepare ourselves to follow up and get to work.
