As we begin our new series of General Meetings based on the question: “How do our spiritual commitments influence our voting patterns?”, we welcome the Rev. Adam Russell Taylor to kick things off in the Third Act Faith Zoom Room on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, 4:00 pm PT / 7:00 pm ET.

Rev. Taylor is president of Sojourners and author of A More Perfect Union: A New Vision for Building the Beloved Community. He previously led the Faith Initiative at the World Bank Group and served as the vice president in charge of Advocacy at World Vision U.S. Rev. Taylor is ordained in the American Baptist Church and the Progressive National Baptist Convention and serves in ministry at the Alfred Street Baptist Church in Alexandria, Va.

Rev. Taylor regularly speaks on topics including voting rights and climate justice, and will bring a perspective to the question of spiritual commitments and voting patterns that we think Third Actors will appreciate. As he writes in a recent article in Sojourners, What Can We Give The US For It's 250th Birthday: “This [civic renewal] is about far more than the vital acts of voting and participating in elections. Civic renewal also includes the norms, practices, and actions that we can take every day to solve problems and advance the common good…” and “From the perspective of Christian faith, civic renewal is a way to live out the call to truth-telling and loving our neighbors as ourselves.”
