The wonders of migratory shorebirds

An illustrated presentation about migratory shorebirds will be delivered by Mr Frank Burch.

Frank is a bird photographer and long-time member of Birds Queensland (the Queensland Ornithological Society)..

Frank’s presentation on this subject to a packed audience at the Pelican Cafe in Redland Bay was very well received. We have asked him to do it again at this Redlands Town Hall meeting.

Karen Robertson will speak about Bay Island Lifestyles’ current activities and their plans to offer additional experiences. This talk is rescheduled from our August meeting.

Bay Island Lifestyle is a small business operating at Raby Bay offering on-water experiences to suit a range of capabilities. Operating from the scenic Raby Bay Foreshore Park, they offer easy access to the stunning Moreton Bay Marine Park including Stand-Up Paddle Boards, Kayaks and Single, Tandem, and Quad Waterbikes.

Welcome Back Shorebirds 2025

Redlands2030 and other members of the Toondah Alliance will be celebrating Welcome Back Shorebirds and World Migratory Bird Day on Sunday 12 October from 8:00am to 12:00 midday at G.J. Walter Park in Cleveland.

You will be able to view feeding shorebirds through high powered scopes. Join a guided walk to look for some Toondah koalas. A community breakfast including sausage sizzle, tea – coffee and cakes will be provided by volunteers. We will have live music and speakers talking about migratory birds. Enjoy the unspoiled view of Moreton Bay’s Ramsar wetlands.


Doors will open at 6 00pm for a meeting start at 6 30pm.

The meeting will conclude about 8 30pm, but you can stay and chat until 9 00pm.
