Trans Workers, Gender Diversity, and the Union: a Trans 101 Conversation for the Labor Movement

Start: Thursday, October 10, 2024 6:00 PM

End: Thursday, October 10, 2024 7:30 PM

Location: Payson Smith Room 30596 Falmouth St, Portland, Portland, ME 04103 US

Featuring: Public Sociologist October Krausch, PhD (they/them)

How can we make sure our unions welcome all members, especially trans and other gender diverse members in this political moment where trans people are under political attack? Participants will have a chance to ask questions (even basic ones!), before gaining an understanding of how labor struggles and trans liberation go hand in hand.

Co-sponsored by OUT Maine.

Masks will be required at this event as part of our care for one another.

Parking info: There is street parking on Falmouth St and from 6:00pm on it is free on both sides. If street parking is full, parking is available in the Bedford Street Parking Garage. Parking in most lots’ costs $4 an hour; scan the QR code at the lot to pay for parking.
