We all saw the horrific images of 5-year-old Liam Ramos, in his bunny hat and spiderman backpack, being detained by ICE alongside his father on his way home from preschool in Minnesota. A similar story is true for hundreds of children and families who have been picked up by ICE and are then separated or detained together in jail-like conditions at the South Texas Family Residential Center in Dilley, Texas. Earlier this year, inside the Dilley detention center, after months of detention in deplorable conditions, hundreds of children and families began protesting to demand their freedom - inspiring us with their courage as they shouted “Libertad, Let us out!”.

As we honor the Day of Remembrance, Japanese Americans remember the impact incarcerating families has on own families and community. Join Tsuru for Solidarity on Monday March 2 at 5pm PT/8pm ET for an interactive webinar on the history of family detention and how Japanese Americans can join families inside Dilley to end family detention.
