UCW-AZ Debt Assembly

Welcome to the first ever United Campus Workers of Arizona Debt Assembly!

This event will be on May 2, 2022 at 1pm at the University of Arizona Mall, between the main and science libraries.

UCW-AZ is hosting a debt assembly in solidarity with the Debt Collective and the broad movement to cancel all student loan debt!

A debt assembly is when a group of people of any size gather in a public place to talk about how debt is affecting their lives and communities.

Publicly discussing debt allows attendees to shed the shame of being in debt and connect with people in the same situation. It is a first step in towards discussing the political function of an indebted public, and strategize about how you can change the situation through collective action.

After we share our stories and talk about the impact of student debt on our lives, we'll talk about next steps and ways to get plugged into our union and/or the Debt Collective. Can't wait to see everyone there!
