In the Pittsburgh area and across the country, we have observed trends in higher education that can only be addressed in an effective manner if students and educators are the ones driving the conversation. Rising student debt, an increase in contingency, and a reduction of tenure track positions are just the tip of the iceberg. Your voice can help to frame the discussion of these issues in the Pittsburgh area.

That is why we are inviting you to help plan the Academic Workers Association Unconference. An unconference or open space conference was popularized in the tech sector in order to increase the flow of ideas. Participants are able to vote on workshops and facilitated discussions before and during the event.
