The Vermont Youth Lobby is coming together for the Make Polluters Pay Week of Action this January 26-30 to kick-off the push for a Make Polluters Pay Agenda, climate superfund, and climate insurance legislation in states across the country.
January is the start of the 2026 legislative session in Vermont and we want to come out of the gate with strong support for our Climate Superfund Law and other polluter accountability measures. Vermont was the first state in the nation when we passed Climate Superfund Law in 2024. The Youth Lobby actively advocated for the bill to become law, and now we must continue to show our strong support as the law works through the implementation phase, and faces legal battles from big oil and the federal government.
The Vermont Youth Climate Lobby will host a lobby day on January 29th for high school students across the state to spend a day in the State House testifying in committees, hosting a press conference, and meeting with legislators to talk about the importance of the Climate Superfund Act, Vermont's other climate laws, and the need for continued progress on climate action.
