Vigil for Standing Rock
Start: Tuesday, November 15, 2016• 5:30 PM
End: Tuesday, November 15, 2016• 7:30 PM
The movement to stop the Dakota Access Pipeline is growing stronger by the day, and it’s time for all of us to rise up and play a role in this fight.
Join us on Tuesday EVENING, November 15 for a solidarity vigil and rally at:
UPDATE! Come to Main Gate on Ballard side of Army Corps of Engineers, Ballard Locks facility. 3015 NW 54th St., Seattle.
Event Program: 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm
Informal gathering: 4:30 to 5:30 pm - snacks and warm beverages provided
We'll be peaceably gathering to call on President Obama to instruct the Army Corps of Engineers to deny final permits for the Dakota Access Pipe Line (DAPL). The pipeline threatens the water supply for the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe and 100,000's of others down river. The pipeline's private owners and regional law enforcement have brutally repressed the tribe's peaceful opposition to this environmentally disastrous project and only the Army Corp of Engineers can stop it from being completed.
This event is part of a national call to action targeting decision makers & stakeholders at every level. By gathering at the Army Corps of Engineers offices across the country, we hope to call attention to the brave water and land protectors at Standing Rock and encourage President Obama to stop the pipeline.
