  • Linda Sarsour -- Linda Sarsour is an award winning racial justice and civil rights activist and organizer. She is a Palestinian Muslim American born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She is the co-founder of MPower Change Action Fund and Until Freedom. She is best known for her intersectional and movement building work and was part of the core team in the Michigan Uncommitted Campaign.
  • Layla Elabed -- "Layla Elabed is a 1st generation Palestinian, American And a community organizer, organizing in Dearborn and Detroit for over 13 years. She is the campaign manager for Listen 2 MI in her own capacity and a regional organizer with We The People in Southeast Michigan. Shes the daughter of Palestinian immigrants, number twelve of her fourteen brothers and sisters, and a mother of 3. Layla organizes around energy justice and environmental justice issues, equitable housing, voter rights, and movements that amplify justice, and the voices of BIPOC communities. She engages and uses her learnings to organize communities towards political power and sustainable change."
  • Ijeoma Oluo -- Ijeoma Oluo is a writer, speaker and internet yeller. She is the author of the #1 New York Times bestseller "So You Want to Talk About Race", "Mediocre: The Dangerous Legacy of White Male America" and, "BE A REVOLUTION: How Everyday People are Fighting Oppression and Changing the World - and How You Can, Too".
  • Shaun Scott -- our host and emcee. Shaun Scott is a Seattle area author and activist.

After the speakers, we'll end with a quick overview of our field operation, then kick off the phone/text bank around 6 PM with a training session, using the same Zoom link.
