Saturday, July 4 at noon, We The People 250 March on Washington
Together, we will proudly carry a 700-foot-long We the People banner through the streets of Washington, DC on July 4, 2026 to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence. Created by Backbone Campaign in Washington State, the massive banner is a symbol of our common purpose and an icon of our collective resistance and resilience. The banner’s tens of thousands of signatures, collected from around the nation, attest to our shared commitment to the first three words of the Constitution and the continuation of our Democracy.
Third Act DMV is proud to join with We The People 250, a coalition of movements and organizations from across the country. Our peaceful, people-powered march takes a stand against authoritarianism and demands that leaders in every political party stop accommodating it. While the exact route is not yet clear, we plan to march about 1.4 miles from near the Capitol to the Washington Monument.
We are The People! And we need hundreds of us to help carry the banner, and more to help us take turns doing so!
