This is the next event in our series of relational experiments in the city. Weaving Trust is a fun organised activity that enables participants to build intentional relationships. Participants learn how to have short but meaningful conversations with people they wouldn't usually spend much time with. Through these one-to-one conversations we celebrate difference, strengthen common identity and grow solidarity as an action to counter polarisation. We go beneath surface chit-chat to learn about what we are interested in and what issues we might have in common.

Participants are introduced to the key elements of the relational method. They are then put into carousels to have a series of short, themed 121 conversations with each other. We then evaluate the experience, pick out what works well, and what works less well, before going into a second carousel for more themed 121s. The event ends with further evaluation, shared learner and next steps for those that want to explore this approach in more detail.

Weaving Trust is helpful for building deeper connections within an institution or across different organisations. Weaving Trust events help us build power with each other when undertaken as part of building a local alliance. Cambridge Citizens is the newest chapter of Cambridge Citizens. Anyone who wants to explore community organising in more detail can sign up for one of our regular one day training.
