Employers in Colorado need workers, and Coloradans aged 50+ are a growing pool of talent. Age-inclusive practices can be used to attract and retain this talent. The results of the Longevity Talent Report and Initiative (LTRI) suggest what we could do in Colorado to connect employers and older job-seekers and promote age-inclusive practices.
In this session, we’ll talk about employer practices that support an age-inclusive workforce. We will hear examples from employers who are doing this now and pilot ideas for elevating these practices.
Takeaways from this session:
- Learn about the AARP Employer Alliance as a resource
- What are age-inclusive practices and why we need them
- Hear from employers putting this into action
- Practices employers can employ to hire and retain the older talent pool
SPEAKERS:
Heather Tinsley-Fix, Senior Advisor, Employer Engagement, AARP Employer Alliance
Melissa Knight, Director, Human Resources and Risk Management, Pitkin County
Lindsey Forquette, Director, Talent Acquisitions & Classification, University of Colorado Anschutz

DATE & TIME: October 27, 10:00 am - 11:00 am MT

The Colorado Department of Labor & Employment launched the Longevity Talent Report and Initiative (LTRI), with funding from Next50, to better understand the challenges older adults face in the job search, assess state workforce data about this population, and based on those findings, recommend ways to improve opportunities for employment for older adults.
