This Week of the Young Child, we’ve been celebrating our kids — their joy, their growth, everything that makes them who they are.

But there’s another side of the story we all know too well.

The cost of childcare is more expensive than college tuition in most states and for working families it shows up in the things we go without.

Groceries we stretch.
Savings we don’t build.
Gas we second guess.
The constant math of “can we afford this?”

So this Friday, April 17, we’re making that visible — together.

We’re inviting moms across the country to share one simple truth:

👉 What childcare is costing us.

It can be as simple as:

• Holding up a sign
• Posting a quick photo
• Writing one honest sentence

If you’d rather do something in person, you can make it a small moment of connection.

Grab a couple of moms, meet at a playground, bring a poster and some markers, and write down what childcare is costing you. Take a photo. Invite another mom nearby to add hers.

Nothing fancy. Just real.

It’s about telling the truth about what families are carrying —
and what needs to change.

This is why affordable childcare matters — so families can breathe, communities can grow stronger, and our economy can thrive.
