Dear Shoresh members,

We will host an online discussion with Raz Segal, associate professor of Holocaust and genocide studies at Stockton University, about the genocide in Gaza.

As we take stock of recent events, it might be time to think about the role of Shoresh during what might be a changed situation on the ground. What does that mean for us as we seek to continue to push for justice in Palestine? Is the genocide over, is it ongoing, has it been ongoing for years? What is the best way to talk about the genocide in Gaza, especially as we seek to continue to apply pressure to the best of our ability from outside of Israel/Palestine?

To help us think through these questions we have invited Raz Segal, who is also a Shoresh member, to present on the topic of the genocide, with an eye to ongoing events in Gaza.

The event will be held on Zoom on Monday, Nov. 3 from 6:00-7:00pm Eastern/3:00-4:00pm Pacific

נקיים דיון מקוון עם רז סגל, פרופסור ללימודי שואה ורצח עם באוניברסיטת סטוקטון, על רצח העם בעזה.

עקב האירועים האחרונים בעזה ובפלסטין/ישראל, עולה צורך לבחון את התפקיד של שרש. מה המשמעות של ההתפתחויות בשטח עבורנו בעוד אנו מבקשות להמשיך לדחוף לצדק בפלסטין? האם רצח העם הסתיים, האם הוא נמשך, האם הוא נמשך כבר שנים? מהי הדרך הטובה ביותר לדבר על רצח העם בעזה, במיוחד כשאנו מבקשות להמשיך להפעיל לחץ כמיטב יכולתנו מחוץ לישראל/פלסטין?

כדי לעזור לנו לחשוב על שאלות אלו, הזמנו את רז סגל, שהוא גם חבר בשרש, להציג בנושא רצח העם, תוך התייחסות לאירועים המתמשכים בעזה.
