And they are off!

The general election campaign has started and Labour has a significant lead in the opinion polls. But what would a change in government mean?  Will we see an ease in the squeeze on living standards? Will we see new employment rights? And will we see significant investment in public services and in social housing? Or will we see a rise in vicious narratives of division, pedaled not just by the extreme right but also by elements of the Conservative party, and will any disappointment in the pace of change lead to a consolidation of the racist right and a resurgence in fascist gangs?

Perhaps most importantly, what can we do as workplace and community organisers to make use of any opportunities that a new government will bring, and to limit the threats that accompany it?

Join us for the start of a discussion which asks, what are the opportunities and threats, and how do we best respond to them?

The panel to be announced, but expect an interactive session with breakout discussions.

This event convened by Ella Baker School of Organising, supported by Independent Working Class Education, Raymond Williams Foundation and Red Pepper.
