End: Tuesday, November 12, 202408:30 AM

Abundant Housing Atlanta in partnership with the Medical Association of Atlanta presents: "Why Does Everyone Benefit from Atlanta's Proposed Housing Policies?"

Many people are aware that the lack of affordable housing and access to transit are two of the main drivers for poor health outcomes for the lower socioeconomic sector of the US population. But few are aware that Atlanta leaders’ policies to improve housing affordability and transportation will also improve the health and well-being of the middle and upper socioeconomic sectors.

Florence LeCraw, MD, (Northside, GA State) will explain why Atlanta leaders’ policies will improve the physical and mental health of all Atlantans. Carrisa Beatty, MPH (Emory) will explain Atlanta leaders’ plans to improve housing affordability for Atlantans and its impact.

A panel will follow. Ernest Brown (Abundant Housing Atlanta) will moderate. Panelists will include Atlanta City Councilman, Jason Dozier, a MARTA representative, Florence LeCraw, and Carissa Beatty. Councilman Dozier will discuss what he and his fellow councilmen are doing to improve the health and well-being of Atlantans.
