An International Women’s Day celebration

Celebrate the resilience and activism of the women of Liverpool and beyond, with performance and discussion led by artists and activists who have been involved in Collective Encounters’ Women in Action programme over the past two years.

The event will include

The launch of The Ballad of 18 Women

A Radio Ballad inspired by testimonies gathered from 18 women activists in the Liverpool City Region. Written by Sarah Thornton with original music by Bethany Kay Hopkins, the ballad is performed by local women who were also researchers for the project, and incorporates the actual voices of the women they interviewed.

Confidence through Creativity monologues

A collection of monologues written and performed by women who have taken part in Collective Encounters’ Confidence through Creativity courses over the past two years

Take Action

An opportunity to discuss women’s activism in Merseyside and beyond, find out how to get involved with Collective Encounters and other activities in the region, and identify important actions we can take to fight for justice and equality.
