Women’s Environmental Leadership Australia (WELA) is thrilled to invite you to our next WELA Expert event where we take a gender and climate justice lens to COP26, the annual climate negotiations taking place in Glasgow this November.

Women are at the forefront of climate impacts globally, and deserve a central seat in the negotiation rooms that agree on the rules that govern global climate finance, adaptation and mitigation policies and programs. Join us as we speak to our panelists about their experiences in the UN climate negotiations, and hear their insights into how we can all better support women’s leadership through our grassroots movements.

For this conversation we invited experts with international experience alongside local presence.

Our panelists include:

  • Bianca Pitt, Co-founder “She Changes Climate”

  • Kavita Naidu, Board member, Greenpeace Australia Pacific ; Women & Gender Constituency, UNFCCC

  • Dr Katherine Mimilidis, Assistant Director, Climate Adaptation and Resilience Negotiations Section; Climate and Environment Policy Branch, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

The conversation will be moderated by Linh Do, Director, Leaders for Global Sustainability at the University of Melbourne, Bertha Fellow and board member at Climate Action Network Australia.
