Pride Woonsocket Celebration!
Start: Monday, June 28, 2021•07:00 PM
End: Monday, June 28, 2021•08:30 PM

Join us for our first-ever Woonsocket Pride event! Rebuild Woonsocket is hosting this event in coordination with Silence is Violence: 401, the Progress Report, the Not 1 More Campaign, the Milagros Project RI, the W.A.T.C.H. Coalition, and other local LGBTQIA+ community members, and it will be held on Monday, June 28th at 7pm, in World War II Memorial Park in Woonsocket (near 300 Social Street, behind the Dunkin Donuts)!
This will be a joyous event to celebrate 2021 LGBTQIA+ Pride month and the LGBTQIA+ community, and commemorate the 52nd anniversary of Stonewall. There will be live performances and local artistic talent, speeches from local LGBTQIA+ community leaders, and a performance with the LGBTQIA+ flags.
You're invited and encouraged to wear your favorite pride swag! We will hold the event rain or shine, and ask that all relevant COVID-19 restrictions at the time of the event be observed. There is limited street parking nearby, and a public parking lot (at Market Square).
**********EDIT**********
We originally planned this to be a joyous and mostly apolitical event, but after the amount of obstruction we've received from the city (and specifically the mayor's administration), we've added a march.
If you would like to take part in the march, we are meeting at River Island Park in Woonsocket at 6:30. We will march through downtown, and arrive at World War II Memorial Park for around 7pm, where the rest of the festivities will take place.
