It’s tough out there right now. No matter how hard you work or how carefully you manage your monthly budget, it feels like the goods and services Iowans rely on are moving further out of reach while costs grow and grow. Your money just doesn’t seem to stretch as far as it used to.

Essential needs like housing, transportation, healthcare, and food are significantly more expensive than they were just a few years ago, and Iowans are feeling the pinch. In fact, the United Way reports that as many as 1 in 3 Iowa households cannot afford to meet basic needs.

That’s why Senate Democrats are so focused on creating a more affordable Iowa for everyone. With this survey, we want to hear from you about the costs that are straining your wallet and how we can help. Note: We recognize that there’s no silver bullet for all the issues Iowans face. But taking steps to lessen your cost burden, even if those steps don’t solve the whole problem all at once, is what you elected us for.
