To what extremes did you and your loved ones go to to survive? How did you stay warm? How did your community step up to meet your needs while our leaders abandoned us?

Millions of working families throughout Texas were left to fend for themselves after historic freezing conditions that Greg Abbott failed to prepare for. Texans suffered and some even died because of the decisions made by Greg Abbott. Our state leadership failed us, but our communities banded together to provide mutual aid to each other. We want to hear your story.

#AbbottBlackout is a man-made disaster created by Greg Abbott’s ideologies that cozy up to corporate interests over the wellbeing of our communities. While Greg Abbott cozied up to corporate interests, families were cozying up with loved ones using any means to stay warm in hopes they would not freeze to death after our energy grid collapsed. Our communities risked going out into dangerous conditions to provide food, water, and other basic needs while Greg Abbott deflected blame.
