Democracy in Colour has partnered with the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) in the relaunch of a historic movement building program, Organising Works.

The Organising Works Program offers you a paid permanent role within the Union Movement combined with 12 months of training and professional development on the job.

The program will support you to learn everything you need to know to do organising and campaigning work towards building collective worker power through a mixture of face-to-face training, online learning, and practically focused Campaign Clinics.

Democracy in Colour is working in partnership with the ACTU to recruit and support people of colour through the whole program and to build structures and spaces of safety, equity and racial justice in the Organising Works program.  

Applying for a position

Are you a change maker, community organiser or campaigner from outside the union movement or someone who wants to begin a career in social justice work?

Do you love having conversations and building relationships with people?

Then we want you to apply for the Organising Works Program. Please read through the program selection criteria.

Fill out the Expression of Interest form and we will call you soon to talk through your experience and suitability for a role.

You will then be put forward for an application process with two rounds of interviews with the ACTU and the participating Union where you will be employed.
