Add your name: Denounce Trump's refusal to rule out seizing territory from other countries by force
Donald Trump is definitely a troll who will often say things just to anger Democrats and even establishment-minded Republicans. However, given Trump's immense power, we still have to take his words seriously, especially when he repeats them under questioning from journalists.
A particularly disturbing case in point is Trump's refusal to rule out the seizing territory from other countries, specifically Denmark and Panama, through military force. The Associated Press reported Trump's comments:
It is ridiculous that Trump refuses to rule out using military force from any country, much less allied democracies. That is the sort of destabilizing behavior that the world looks to the United States to stand up to, not that it should fear us actually engaging in ourselves.

President-elect Donald Trump on Tuesday said he would not rule out the use of military force to seize control of the Panama Canal and Greenland, as he declared U.S. control of both to be vital to American national security.Let's just state the obvious here: seizing territory from other countries by force is wrong. Refusing to rule it out is wrong. Panama and Denmark are both democracies, and we have trade and military agreements with both of them.
Speaking to reporters less than two weeks before he takes office on Jan. 20 and as a delegation of aides and advisers that includes Donald Trump Jr. is in Greenland, Trump left open the use of the American military to secure both territories. Trump’s intention marks a rejection of decades of U.S. policy that has prioritized self-determination over territorial expansion.
“I’m not going to commit to that,” Trump said, when asked if he would rule out the use of the military. “It might be that you’ll have to do something. The Panama Canal is vital to our country.” He added, “We need Greenland for national security purposes.”
