Odessa Kelly has *officially* announced a run to represent Tennessee’s 5th District in Congress.

Born and raised in Nashville on the East Side. Kelly loved growing up in Nashville and learned how the system is rigged against the people that make Nashville great. As Nashville became the hip new “it” city, Kelly saw neighbors get pushed out while billionaire real-estate investors cashed in.

Odessa Kelly served 14 years at Metro Parks and Rec and led the Napier Community Center. Kelly saw young Black community members face discrimination from police, good homes for working class families become luxury condos nobody can afford and so much more. That’s why, in 2016, Kelly co-founded Stand Up Nashville to take on some of the big fights for racial and economic justice.

Kelly is running because Nashville deserves a Democrat in Congress who fights as hard for families and the city. Kelly's campaign won’t take a dime of corporate PAC money, even if the opponent rakes it in. And, if elected, Kelly will fight for strong COVID relief, Medicare for All, housing justice, and Green New Deal union jobs.
