The Supreme Court recently announced it was adopting a new code of ethics following months of reports about MAGA justices accepting lavish gifts from billionaires.

The problem? Their code has no accountability, it’s essentially a PR stunt for corrupt MAGA justices who have shown they have no regard for ethics. The Court is not trying to impose any actual standards upon themselves – they are just codifying the loose, permissive terms that enabled all their corruption to date so it’s up to us to demand better.

Indivisible is calling on Congress to adopt the Supreme Court Ethics and Recusal Act (SCERT) so that Supreme Court justices are held to real standards of accountability. We need real rules with real accountability, not the ‘just trust us’ code SCOTUS is currently trying to pass off as legitimate.
