Angela Gonzales-Torres is a lifelong Angeleno, Advocate for Justice, and champion for permanent affordable housing running for Congress in the heart of Los Angeles. CA-34 stretches from Northeast LA to unincorporated parts of East LA to MacArthur Park, and everything in between including Chinatown, Little Tokyo, Little Bangladesh, and Koreatown. Angela is running for this seat because she believes Angelenos deserve a federal representative who reflects their values and courage.

A DSA-LA member since 2023, Angela's organizing runs deep: she served as president of her neighborhood council keeping tenants housed and protecting small businesses, was a member of the LA Mayor's Office building a youth empowerment program, held a regional representative seat on the Metro's Public Safety Advisory Committee pushing a care-first approach to transit safety, and contributed to the Project Rebound network, assisting those overcoming recidivism through education.

CA-34 holds one of the largest jail systems in the country, some of the city's highest eviction rates, and the dirtiest air in LA County. But it is also home to some of the hardest-working and most incredible individuals in the country who deserve healthcare, housing, access to education or job opportunities, and justice. Angela's platform meets the urgency of this moment. Her platform includes abolishing ICE, a Green New Deal targeting industrial pollution, stronger unions and worker protections, Medicare for All, expanded paid family leave, a demand to Free Palestine, social housing, and fully funded schools.

She is running to replace establishment incumbent Jimmy Gomez, who is backed by AIPAC, crypto, Big AI lobbies, and corporate real estate developers. Angela has pledged to reject all corporate PAC and AIPAC money, earning the support of national progressive champions like Justice Democrats and the Working Families Party. Together with local grassroots organizers, she has built a multicultural, multigenerational coalition capable of winning this seat and delivering the affordability agenda all Angelenos deserve.
