Apply for a Seat at the Table Organizing Grant!

We're looking for dedicated organizers who want to mobilize and engage African American communities ahead of the 2019 and 2020 elections. The Seat at the Table grant program awards one-time funding, up to $3,000.

Grant requests must be submitted by July 31, 2019. Each organizer may only submit one proposal per funding cycle. Applicants should have the ability to organize within the Black community with the goal of furthering voter participation and civic engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Must be willing to become a member of the DNC’s Seat at the Table ambassador program.
  • Must commit to hosting at least three (3) organizing activities, including but not limited to: a) Voter Registration Drive b) Issue Forum c) Community Activist Training
  • Must be able to participate bi-monthly check-ins.
  • Must be able to perform outreach and engagement work in 2019-2020 target states.
  • Must encourage community connection by driving project participants to DNC online community platforms.
  • Must provide a mechanism for the collection of personal stories focused on core issues that define the priorities of the community.
  • Must use DNC provided tools for event planning and crowdsourcing and communication.
  • Must complete all DNC reporting requirements.

Seat at the Table is an initiative of the DNC's Women's Caucus and DNC's Black Caucus, supported by the Congressional Black Caucus PAC, and Black women elected officials from across the country to engage and organize with Black women.
