BADT Training Scholarship Application Form

During Black Maternal Health Week 2024, Soul 2 Soul Sisters is offering scholarships for 8 trainees to participate in Birthing Advocacy Doula Training's (BADT) 12-week, online full-spectrum doula training this Fall.  

The training provides trainees with culturally-reflective instruction and doula education for all stages of a birthing person's life.

After completing this training doulas will become well-versed in the following curriculum:

  • Activism & Birth Work
  • Black Perinatal & Infant Health Disparities
  • Queer & Trans Birth
  • Trauma Informed Care
  • Birth & Postpartum  
  • Caring for Partners
  • Nutrition, Food Insecurity & Access
  • Infant Feeding
  • Bereavement & Loss
  • Adoption & Surrogacy
  • Business Strategies for Birthworkers

From the pool of applicants, the 8 trainees who are selected to move forward will be required to pay a $100 non-refundable deposit to reserve their spot. Soul 2 Soul Sisters will pay the remaining training fee per person.

Following the virtual training, birthworkers are required to commit to 1 year of membership with Sacred Seeds Black Birthworker Collective of Colorado. Through our Collective, birthworkers receive additional resources, networking opportunities, support in completing their certification process, referrals to connect with local Black families seeking doula care, and much more.

DATE: Fall session opens in Sept.

TIME: Self-paced, with optional weekly live sessions recorded for replay + co-working sessions  

LOCATION: Virtual

COST: $100

Application Guidelines:

  • Must be currently living in Colorado
  • Must identify as Black, African, African-American and/or Person of African Descent to apply
  • Must display a readiness to do the sacred work of support people throughout their reproductive experiences
  • Can be an aspiring doula with no experience or a previously trained doula seeking continuing education
  • Must be commit to 1 year membership with Sacred Seeds Black Birthworker Collective of Colorado - no additional fee required
