Be a 2026 Voting Ambassador!

YOU are the best person to make sure military families are registered and ready to vote in 2026.

SFI Voting Ambassadors are trusted members of the military family community who help other voters navigate the unique challenges we face, like voting absentee, voting overseas, and staying registered through frequent moves. SFI is nonpartisan and we do not support candidates or political parties. Our mission is simple: make sure every military family member who wants to vote can do so—and that their vote counts.

You already have the relationships. You understand the barriers. And your voice carries weight.

As a 2026 Voting Ambassador, you’ll join a supportive, energized team working together to strengthen voter participation across our community. All it takes is a minimum of 2 hours of your time every month, the interest to meet new people and talk to strangers, and a passion to improve your community.

Despite record turnout nationwide in 2020, only 47% of the military community voted, which is 27 points lower than our civilian peers! That gap isn’t accidental. Voting barriers have always shaped whose voices are heard and whose are ignored.

Today’s military reflects the diversity of our country: nearly half of service members are people of color, and most active-duty spouses are women. These are groups that were historically excluded from the right to vote. And only after decades of demonstrations and activism, led by Black American leaders, were they able to achieve a right to participate at voting polls.

When military families vote, we exercise our hard-fought right to vote. We build power by voicing what matters to our community. And we hold leaders accountable for the policies that shape our lives.
