Become a grassroots co-sponsor of the PAID Act today
One’s education level, zip code, marital status, and credit score don’t determine your driving ability. Yet, drivers in Black and working class neighborhoods regularly face higher auto insurance rates.
That’s why Rep. Rashida Tlaib has re-introduced the Prohibit Auto Insurance Discrimination Act (PAID Act), to continue the critical work of dismantling corporate discriminatory practices that keep pur neighbors in the cycle of poverty.
The PAID Act would bar the use of the following when calculating insurance rates:
-
Education level
-
Employment status and occupation
-
Home ownership status or marital status
-
Credit score / consumer report
-
Gender
-
Zip code or adjacent zip codes
-
Census tract
-
Previous insurer information
This bill would also empower the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to enforce these prohibitions.
Add your name as a grassroots co-sponsor of the PAID Act now and fight back against the predatory and corporate discriminatory practices of auto insurance companies.
