We want this campaign to be a space for people to hold discussions, coordinate actions and build a community around Palestine solidarity. To keep this space welcoming, inclusive, and effective, we ask everyone to keep the following in mind:

*Respect and Inclusion*

- Treat everyone with kindness and respect, even if you disagree.

- Any form of discrimination, harassment, bullying, or victimisation based on race, faith, age, disability, class, sex, gender identity or expression, or sexual orientation is strictly prohibited – this includes antisemitism and islamophobia.

- Personal attacks or aggressive language won’t be tolerated.

*Safety*

- Be mindful of safeguarding, particularly when children or vulnerable people are involved.

- If anyone feels unsafe, they are encouraged to reach out to SPSC (and, if necessary, the relevant authorities).

These guidelines are to help keep this group respectful and supportive. Individuals who repeatedly fail to stick to these guidelines may be given a warning and repeated failure could result in removal from the group. Do not expect a refund.

What we stand for

The Stoke Palestine Solidarity Campaign is a campaigning organisation committed to freedom and justice for the Palestinian people. Whilst we were founded in opposition to Israel's colonial genocide on Gaza, we stand for the right of Palestinians - from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea, encompassing all of historic Palestine - to total self-determination over their country, the right to return and the end of Israel's colonial occupation. As a campaigning organisation based in Britain, we stand for the absolute cutting of all ties - economic, military and political - with the state of Israel. We wholeheartedly endorse the call from Palestinian civil society for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions.

We firmly believe that Palestine has never been a single issue. Palestine is a prism that reveals the world to itself. It reveals that our struggles are intrinsically connected, international, local, personal and collective. We seek solidarity with anyone who opposes colonial violence, racism and power.

Who we are

Formed in October 2023, we are a multiethnic, inclusive organisation of activists and volunteers from all walks of life. We include educators, trade unionists, students, community leaders and people from across the broad spectrum of Stoke-on-Trent civil society.

What we do

As a campaign, we believe in a diversity of tactics. Since our inception, we have organised demonstrations, mass meetings, teach-ins, reading groups, rallies, film screenings, vigils and coaches to actions and protests elsewhere. Our aim is to put pressure on national and local government, as well as firms and companies, to break all ties with Israel. Since October 2023, the popular pressure we have created on the streets forced the local council to support a ceasefire. We also raised the profile of cutting arms export licences to Israel with our protest and intervention on BBC Question Time. Additionally, we seek to educate the broader public on the history and contemporary condition of Palestinian life. We also stand in solidarity with other struggles against oppression and human injustice.
