Boycott Columbia Sussex Hotels

I pledge to boycott all Columbia Sussex-owned hotels. I will not eat, meet, or sleep at a Columbia Sussex property until workers at the Hilton Anchorage have a fair contract.

Columbia Sussex is a company that owns and operates hotels with Hilton, Hyatt, and Marriott brands in 20 different states. You may have stayed at a Columbia Sussex property—or have future travel booked in one—and not even know it.

If you are planning an event at a Columbia Sussex property, we urge you to move your event to another location. If your travel plans include a Columbia Sussex property, we urge you to book a different hotel.

UNITE HERE members working at the Columbia Sussex-owned Hilton Anchorage Hotel in Anchorage, Alaska say working conditions deteriorated after Columbia Sussex purchased the property in 2006. Employees have been forced to work without a contract for more than ten years, losing their good union health care plan and earning raises only when mandated by state law. The federal government took the Hilton Anchorage to trial before the National Labor Relations Board in the fall of 2019 for alleged labor law violations. The State of Alaska’s OSHA office has cited the hotel for 23 health and safety violations since 2015.
