BREAKING: Sentencing for Operation Lebo

On January 29, 2025, a St. Lucie County, Florida couple faced sentencing for their involvement in an illegal slaughterhouse operation uncovered in 2024 by Animal Recovery Mission, Operation Lebo. Both had plead guilty to multiple counts of animal cruelty.

Miguel Cabrera was sentenced to 30 days in jail, followed by three years of probation for torturing animals before slaughtering them without rendering them insensitive to pain.

His partner, Ysairis Gonzalez, received three years of probation for failing to intervene and profiting from the inhumane killings.

Undercover footage revealed graphic scenes of animal cruelty, including animals bleeding out for minutes and being skinned while still conscious.
