Butler Hospital workers won big. The Providence Center can too.
Butler Hospital workers just won big in our most recent negotiations with Care New England. In our contract we won:
- A minimum of 9% wage increases over four years with many employees getting more. No employee will make less than $15, and long term employees got additional bonuses.
- Affordable health care benefits including for lower-wage and part-time employees.
- Improvided job security with layoff protections and advanced notice of any service line changes. Affected employees will be offered four months of retraining to move into another position.
- A stronger health and safety committee to address concerns during the remainder of the pandemic and beyond.
- Annual funding for our union's Workforce Training and Development Education Fund - in addition to our existing tuition benefit - to cover CEU and licensure costs, and well as upskilling for entry level employees.
Most importantly, Butler Hospital workers have a strong voice in the pending merger between Care New England and Lifespan.
Workers at The Providence Center can have a voice in your jobs and futures too. Fill out the form below to find out more.
"Along with better wages, benefits, safety, respect, equality and a voice to be heard, there is a family of brothers and sisters backing you up. I recommend joining and being involved in the 1199 Union. When we fight together, we win together."Hillary Reavis, Staffing Specialist Butler Hospital |
“When our department joined 1199 we were proud to stand with all members in all departments to protect our benefits and win raises. We are stronger when we are in one union that understands the work we do in mental health!”Dan Camp, Nutrition Associate Butler Hospital |
