CA HEALTHY NAIL SALON COLLABORATIVE PLEDGE CARD 2.0

The California Healthy Nail Salon Collaborative (www.cahealthynailsalons.org) was established in 2005 with a mission to enhance the health, safety, and rights of the nail salon workforce.

Currently, we are actively advocating for the Justice in Beauty bill AB 2444, co-sponsored by CHNSC and Asian Americans Advancing Justice Southern California, which prioritizes the rights of beauty workers, ensuring they receive language-appropriate information regarding basic labor laws. Manicurists and establishments licensed by the Board of Barbering and Cosmetology (BBC) deserve to be informed about upcoming changes in the law set to take effect in January 2025.

Given that a significant proportion of manicurists in California are low-income Vietnamese women of childbearing age, our organizing approach is rooted in an intersectional perspective. We recognize and address the complex interplay between labor and economic justice, reproductive justice, and immigrant rights.

Together, we are working towards collecting pledges that will enable us to provide much-needed assistance to our communities.

Warm regards,

CA Healthy Nail Salon Collaborative Team
