Campus Climate Network Faculty & Staff Working Group -- Initial Interest Form
While there are various spaces for faculty and staff to get involved in the fight for climate justice (activism through Scientist Rebellion, research through the AGU and the Climate Social Science Network, etc.) no space currently exists that is explicitly focused on the role of faculty in supporting campus-based campaigns for climate justice (campaigns for divestment, fossil free research, ending fossil fuel industry recruitment, etc.). That’s where we come in!
University faculty and staff members are uniquely positioned to support student organizing in various ways. They can aid in the preservation of institutional campaign knowledge in the face of constant student turnover, help students navigate the intricacies of university bureaucracy, provide credibility to student-led campaigns by voicing their support, contribute to the development of campaign resources, organizing fellow faculty members, and more. What would it look like for faculty and staff allies of student-led climate campaigns to collaborate on an international scale? How could this strengthen the campus climate movement? There’s only one way to find out!
If you are interested in being a part of building out this effort (or if you just want to be kept in the loop in future communications — there are no binding commitments here!) please fill out this form.
