The complaint alleges that TxDOT has intentionally engaged in discrimination through its awareness of I-35’s racist past and inequitable impacts and its unwillingness to address those impacts, instead doubling down on them through a massive highway expansion.

The original complaint was submitted on January 26, 2024 to the US Department of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and other federal officials.

The complaint will be re-filed on Feb 28 with additional signatories.
