March 16 marks the five year remembrance of the murders of eight people, including six Asian women massage workers, at spas in the Atlanta area. As the organization that led the rapid response efforts to directly support victims, survivors, and their families, Asian Americans Advancing Justice - Atlanta once again invites you to join our organization in remembrance.

In recognition of the five year remembrance, Asian Americans Advancing Justice - Atlanta wrote a solidarity letter to honor the victims, support their families, and call attention to the continued violence and exploitation faced by Asian women and immigrant and migrant massage workers.

The letter highlights several key reflections and calls to action:

  • Centering the victims, survivors, and their loved ones as we mark five years since the Atlanta Spa Shootings

  • Naming the role of misogyny, racism, white supremacy, and xenophobia in shaping violence against Asian women and immigrant communities

  • Recognizing the continued targeting of immigrants through harmful rhetoric, detention, and enforcement actions

  • Standing with workers and communities facing labor exploitation, gender based violence, and systemic harm

  • Affirming that remembrance is an act of resistance and that our communities must continue to organize and show up for one another
