Conditional Commitment to Resist the Coastal Gaslink Pipeline
In signing this form, I commit to take part in civil disobedience to the point of arrest within the next 2-6 weeks by disrupting the economy, to demand an end to the Coastal Gas-link pipeline on unceded Wet'suwet'en land.
I will take responsibility for attending Nonviolent Direct Action Training (or a local Assembly) where I will receive a legal briefing.
I understand that I am making this decision as an act of resistance against my government’s inaction on the climate and ecological emergency.
I understand that people’s safety at actions is dependent on me fulfilling my commitment to participate in the action.
I understand that I am making this decision knowing that there are risks associated with resistance, but there are greater risks associated with not resisting (CLIMATE CHANGE).
I understand that the organization cannot fully guarantee how the police and the Crown prosecution will behave during the campaign, except for informed analysis given by organizers.
You will be contacted by a community organizer to be on-boarded into the resistance.
The only thing that has ever worked in pressuring the government to meet with the Wet'suwet'en nation is the Shut Down Canada events of February 2020.
