CT DSA Education Justice Working Group Interest Form
Are you a student, parent, education professional, or otherwise a DSA member passionate about education justice in Connecticut?
CT DSA's Education Justice Working Group is a cohort of socialist educators – primarily in K-12 public education, but includes librarians, higher education workers, students, and more – invested in establishing education justice organizing in CT DSA through theory and practice.
This Working Group is currently organizing around:
Supporting public education unions, such as the American Federation of Teachers Connecticut (AFT-CT) and Connecticut Education Association (CEA) in 1) protecting public education from budget cuts and privatization by the charter school lobby, and 2) fighting for fully fully funded public schools from the Connecticut state budget
Organizing a mass base of parents to support public schools
Our horizons include, and are not limited to:
Addressing the statewide teacher staff shortage
Advocating for ecosocialist transformation of public schools
Protecting the right to intellectual freedom in educational institutions
Promoting access to education and information as a human right
